Central Standard Craft Distillery
LINC held a panel discussion at Central Standard Craft Distillery!
The panel was moderated by Pat McQuillan of PNC Bank (and co-owner of Central Standard!) and featured three members of United Way’s Emerging Leaders:
- Angela Quigley, Co-Owner/Publisher of Married in Milwaukee
- Joe Gehrke, Group Senior Vice President, Corporate Banking at Associated Bank
- Denisha Tate, Chief Strategic Officer at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee
The panelists discussed their career paths and how engagement with United Way and other community-minded organizations has enhanced their professional and personal development.
LINC also collected cash donations to support United Way's Summer Reading Project to combat 'summer slide'. A BIG THANK YOU to all who donated!!! Your thoughtful donations will help put literacy-focused and bilingual books into the hands of kids this summer.
What is 'summer slide'? Children who do not read during the summer often slide backwards losing months of reading achievement, while lose who do read maintain and gain reading and comprehension skills. On average, children from families with low incomes have four children's books in their homes, while 61% of low-income families have no books in their homes at all.
